My Kitten Breathes 64 Times Per Minute...is This Natural?

My kitten has been curled up sleeping beside me on my bed..i noticed his breathing was 'fast' so i counted it in a minute and she was breathing 64 times in a minute...is this okay?

That does seem high. How old is the kitten and when is he due to the vet next? Maybe mention it to them... Not to ask dumb questions but are you SURE you are counting breaths and not purrs and you are counting 1 breath as in and out.

Yes...she's deep asleep and 6 weeks old...her apointment is next week
