Hello all!
I have a beautiful black female, 4.7 months old, who was just spayed today. Her name is Jinx. I have an older Burmese mix, a male named Milo, that was neutered at five months old about four years ago. His recovery was swift and he was on his feet and at his usual antics within hours. I know that it won't be the same with my little girl.
The surgery went well, she's home and safe, and she has access to water.
She just can't seem to get comfortable to rest. She is under the anesthetic still (heavily, haha) and right now she is dozing off with her booty in the air. Is there anything I can do to make her more comfortable? My bed is where she normally sleeps, and it is on the floor (as we are expecting a new bed frame in a few weeks) so it is accessible but she prefers the floor. Is it normal for her to sleep so strangely?
She is also shaking, which I know is because she is cold as a result from the surgery and anesthetic - the house is 78 degrees, is that warm enough for her to be comfortable? She is also twitching pretty often but I assume it's also because of the anesthetic. I was given pain medication in case.
She just looks so uncomfortable right now.
Any advice? Will she be more comfortable when the anesthetic wears off?
Thanks!
