We download "hard to find shows" to DVD.... to to Mophris.com and you can download pretty much anything....

But becareful, we downloaded, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (ummmm.... we started to watch it, and it was VERY R-rated)

Nick had accidently downloaded the porn version.... it was very a funny accidently (which I quickly distroyed!)

Oh that is too funny.

And Deb - we taped a couple of All in the Family marathons. I love the one with Sammy Davis, Jr. the best. I think I like the one where Edith buys the Cling Peaches next.

You know what other show I love? Green Acres! The ones where everyone thinks Mr. Douglas is a drunk we find to be almost side-splitting. Strange, aren't we?

...or Debby, what about the episode where Archie needs a lawyer because he hit a car full of nuns? He, of course, wants a Jewish lawyer. Because of his neighborhood, the Jewish law firm he picks out of the yellow pages sends the token Christian. Archie is staring at him in disbelief and anger, and finally shouts, "Go Back To Where You Came From and Bring Me A Jew!"

It was one of the first real "issues" shows in a comedy format. I love(d) it!

I just got my dvd player for Christmas last year, so my collection is still quite small. I have a ton of Disney movies on VHS... it irks me that I don't have them on dvd now. I'm also guilty of not watching all of the dvds that I do have, but most of them I've actually seen before... all except for Unbreakable anyway.

American Pie 1 & 2
The Aristocats (Disney)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Seasons 1 & 2
Dirty Dancing
Hercules (Disney)
Highlander - End Game
Monsters, Inc. (Disney)
Office Space
The Sixth Sense
Unbreakable
The Usual Suspects

Laurie, yes I remember all the episodes you mentioned, except the Cling Peaches one....it doesn't ring a bell. My favorite is when Edith is going through the change of life and she is really moody and she tells Archie to stifel (sp?) it!! I taped a ton of them from the Nick at Night marathons!!!! And I have a few I bought as well, like the anniversary edition etc. I can't get enough of them! His (Archies) facial expressions and the things he says are just so good!!!! I just watched a Sammy Davis Jr. one the other night!

He does! It plays everyday on a local tv station and he constantly watches it.

Debby - I'd forgotten about that one - (Shame on me!) It was hysterical!!!! It IS the best Edith one.

The one with the cling peaches: Edith goes shopping. As she tells the story to Archie: she was done shopping and going out to the car. She stopped to see someone's new baby. She lifted her hands to her face to say "What a pretty Baby!" and the cart rolled away from her and when it stopped, a can of cling peaches popped out of the bag and dented a car. So she left a note. (Which of course makes Archie mad). In the episode, Archie is sure that the person is going to bilk them for all kinds of money. After all the usual antics, it turns out to be a priest. But what makes it so funny is, you know how Edith can never just straight out tell a story. She wasy driving Archie mad, and he shouted at her to "Stop mentioning 'Cling Peaches' - I don't want to hear those words again." So Edith had to keep going "hmmmmmmm" instead of using the words cling peaches. ROTFL.

Hahahahaha!!! NOW I remember it!!!!! The thing I always liked about Archie was that through his rough exterier, he actually had a heart of gold. He would never have hurt Edith, and loved her very much, and some of the shows are quite touching, like when they found out Gloria was seeing another man and leaving Mike *meathead*. After all the crap Archie had given Mike through the years, he still felt very bad for his son-in-law, and you could tell he actually had affection for him.
