On Monday April 23rd, 2012, my baby kitty Candy crossed the rainbow bridge. It all began two weeks ago when we noticed she was losing weight. As a precaution, we scheduled an appointment with the vet. They gave her a blood test and an ultrasound, and it confirmed our worst fears - my little girl had cancer. She had lymphoma in her kidney and they couldn't operate. Apparently, it was too far advanced to try chemo, so they put her on steroids and sent her home. I cried for three days while my poor kitty sat there dying. By Sunday night, she could no longer stand up, and was violently getting sick. We assumed it was the steroids, but the vet confirmed that the cancer had spread to the brain, and her kidneys would soon fail. My poor Candy was in so much pain, and the only humane thing to do was to put her down. I know my baby is at peace, but I miss her so much. She was my best friend, and I will never forget the thirteen years that we spent together, because they were the best years of my life.
