I have a beautiful kitty - he's 13 years old and has been deaf from when we got him as a rescue kitten from the RSPCA. Recently he has developed a howling / scream - I find it heartbreaking -sounds like the kind if howling a lonely dog might sound like left at home alone. He's very much loved and pampered and fed - I think he might be becoming senile - nothing has changed in his routine or life as far as I can see - any help would be appreciated as it really does sound like he is upset but can't understand why

Hello and welcome to TCS

I moved your post into its own thread as it was posted as a reply to a thread from 2005.

I think 13 is a bit young for senility but he does need to be checked by a vet as he could indeed be feeling disoriented. He may be going blind too.
