Last night I came home from a work event around 2am & found my beautiful Tuxedo boy Iggy laying on the floor motionless. I called his name & when he didn't respond I knew he had passed on. When I left at 5:30pm, he was cuddled up warm & snug with the other kitties on the sofa & I pet them all goodbye. Nothing would have indicated that he was ill, or would be found like this when I returned home. He was only 6 years old. We never saw it coming.
Iggy had asthma his entire life, but as long as he got his twice daily puffs, everything was fine. Iggy had puddles of saliva around him & there was some blood in it. His paws looked like the saliva had been all over them. His mouth was open, as were his eyes. It was a great shock to find him like that. Does ANYONE have any ideas about how he could have passed? Does this sound familiar to anyone? If you even have ideas, please let me know.
He was dropped off this morning to be cremated, but we didn't order necropsy & now I kind of regret that.
