My dad adopted a cat last year and really has no idea on the cats health background unfortunately. the owner died and my friend didn't know too much about the cat. She believes he is 8 but I think he is older. My dad took the cat to the vet months ago and the vet said the cat may have a cavity and needs teeth cleaned. Since then, my dad is convinced the cat has diabetes casuse the cat drinks a lot of water and pees a lot in the box. The vet said the drinking a lot of water could be from the cavity.
I stopped at my parents house and saw Sunny was walkng funny.. My mom believes he sprained it when he jumped into the bathtub. I picked up the cat and he didn't scream didn't wince at all. Can a cat sprain a muscle and not show any signs of pain? My dad believes its caused by diabetes. I went on you tube and its hard to say if it is the diabetic walk. It irriates me cause I have to cats, Johnny Mittens (who is having his teeth pulled costing me $1700.00 next week and am the type to jump and bring cat to vet right when there is a problem). I understand my dad doesnt have a lot of money but I know my vet will do payment plan if I ask on his behalf. he can even bring him to the Fox Clinic. I have my cats surgury next week but will bring Sunny to vet next week for him and see what she says based on the walk. I hope my pet insurance covers my cat's procedure and I have a lawyer who will write a letter to Pets best for me for free .
anyone know if a cat can have a sprain or funny walk from muscle pull and not be in pain?
I wonder if he could have an inner ear infection?
Also, can blood work show a cats true age?
