we have bought Greenies  green treats

 for Peebo,  Bro and Leo

for the past year ..giving them 4 each per day

to help keep down tartar buildup

We also have bought Authority Dental treats

grain free which they LOVE at Petsmart.

Which ones have you found that your cats like

that are grain free and also seem to help with

keeping tartar less on their teeth?

I, personally, haven't found ANY that actually work to keep the tartar from building up.

Also, if you are feeding these you need to count them in your dailly calorie count for Peebo, since he's on a diet

Ms Green  jeans

I will ..thanks

and the boys are all neutered

I just call them tomcats because it is cute to me..

The daylillys I have are not poisinous to deer or cats to my knowledge

but many other variety of  lillies will cause death or severe illness..

there is a common green house plant that has a white bloom and is

a lily that is very toxic to pets..

I have to spray the daylillies with garlic solution to stop the deer from eating my

show flowers..nice daylillies. that I photograph..

I also buy a product called Deer Off and spray twice a month on them

or Repel ..for deer .. does not harm the deer or any other animals..

wish I could buy them  the potted greens but there has to be a limit of what we can do..

I had a 19 year old yard cat that I adopted after her owner had to go to the nursing home

this cat never had a proper bed  on a porch nor good food and only a rabies shot

most of her life..

I took her in and she had a nice  doghouse with fleece blankets the rest of her life

rabies shot, dry food that was not a grain free or corn free and she lived  to be

19 years old...Here is Ms  Kitty's picture one christmas at  my home..

Then we can  have a cat like  humans who have illness young...

no matter what we do for them ..to improve their life.

When it is all done and over I can say that I did the best I could for humans

and for my pets..with what money I had and what energy I had...

I certainly gave all the love and kindness I could to them..

My kitty gets Greenies too, but not sure if it is actually helping to prevent tartar buildup, b'cos I brush his teeth daily too but I really doubt Greenies can do much.

Greenies are a marketing gimmick to me and just put fat on your cats. Brush their teeth or give them dental chew toys.

You could see if they will eat the small part of a (raw) chicken wing. That will clean their teeth better than soft/hard food.
You'd have to cut back a little of their other food if weight is a concern.
PS: RAW RAW RAW never ever cooked bone.

I bought the exact same packages you did: Authority and Greenies dental chews.   I think I gave one or two each before I read here that it wasn't doing much of anything.

I brush his teeth every few days.

Which reminds me: is all toothpaste created equal for cats?

Edit - Nvm, I found the C.E.T. enzymatic toothpaste at a vet. office.  It's even less expensive than any online offerings.
