My cats are using the litter box together.

I was wondering if this is weird or not? I just noticed it the other day. I have two cats, one female and one male. My female cat will be using the litter box (which is very big) and my male cat will come over and just get in and do his business along with her. I thought this was very strange so I'm curious if this is common or no?

I have heard of cats who do this.  I've never seen mine do it; but I have seen them wait in line basically.  I don't think my girls would fit together in one box at this point.  As kittens they might have.  I'm not sure.

My boy and girl do this now and then and even bury each other's business. So funny.
