I have been switching my cats to a new food (help with weight) they have a little bit of a gut but now they won't eat it. When I mix in there old food they will eat the old food and not the new stuff. I am at a loss.

They don't like the new food obviously. The best weight loss diet can be very simple, just use a grain free wet food and no dry food. Most cats will go for this. It's also possible that something is wrong with the new food. Any bag can get a ole in it or a mold problem and things we humans can't detect but cats will. There is a lot of information in our Nutrition forum, but my personal experience with a fat cat was that once I fed her nothing but wet food with no grain (it was just Friskies loaf, nothing with wheat gluten) and fed her all she would eat at each meal, she lost weight slowly over the course of a year. She was a dry food junkie before that so it took a little persuasion,mixing dry in with the wet at the beginning.
