My cat just had her first litter of kittens today. They still have the cord attached with the placenta and the mother will not clean it off. The first kitten was born at 7am today and the last was born around 11am. So it has been more then 12 hours. There is 3 kittens and they are getting tangled together. They are drinking but are having trouble getting to nipples due to being all tangled up. Can I cut the cords on them?

Yes you can and shall cut them off. There is no longer any blood flowing so its no big deal.
Cut not too near the kitten so you dont risk to hurt them F Fayeram
