At night, if someone walks past my cat, he sees the shadow, and immediately assumes attack stance. If we make some hand gestures and he sees the shadows of them, he will leap and try to attack it, clawing at the carpet.
Its only a minor problem really, and its pretty funny, but is there any way to teach him that shadows arnt real things? Because apart from some minor damage to the carpet, i read somewhere that if a cat is constantly afraid, it could lead to other behavioural problems.
He does the same thing with light reflections from reflective objects, and he only seems to be scared of shadows at night. He is a persian.
Any help would be appreciated
cheers
