I'm so sorry the results were not good.
Bubba had a scan done Friday and the results are that he has cancer. My heart is broken. So far he is still eating and seems to be happy and laid back. I didn't ask how much time he has left. I really don't want to know. He seems to be doing much better than I am. Thanks for all the replies that helped me try to pin point his illness.
LDG, what's the name of the chemo that worked well for your kitty? Thanks. The link to the video on YouTube is in the very first post - you have to click on it (it is highlighted in blue) to see the comments. I just read them. It turns out the kitty had GI lymphoma and passed away.
Another member (BarbB) had a kitty (Toby) with similar symptoms that turned out to be large cell lymphoma. They tried chemotherapy, which seemed to be helping at first, but in the end, he didn't make it.
I have a kitty that had similar symptoms, but they found a large mass in his stomach. It also turned out to be large cell lymphoma. We are very fortunate in that he responded well to chemotherapy. He is close to celebrating two years since it was diagnosed (he was given four weeks to live without treatment), and 1.5 years of remission.
I'm so sorry for your losses
I would explore IBD in your cat.
hi did you ever resolve this issue? this is exactly what my cat is suffering from but he has been throwing up and has also had diarrhea on and off for a few weeks and then in this past week he started doing exactly what your cat is doing in the video!
please i'm really worried about him any input you might have from your experience could be really helpful.
(thanks)
How old is Yoshi? If this is a genetic problem, then has he had this problem his entire life? If not, then I would suspect something else. Unfortunately, most of the cats from this thread ended up having cancer rather than an issue with their mouth
Your cat is sounding exactly like what my cat is going through. Every month he gets a cortisone shot. This month it worked for 10 days. Yoshi won't/can't eat. They can't give him another shot til July because they say it could blow out his liver. I did manage to find one thing he tries to get down. Warm whole milk. The Vets told me he has a genetic problem in his mouth. (It's a long name and I don't know it at this writing). I am so worried I will have to put him down because he'll starve to death waiting 2 weeks for his "new shot".
