About a year ago, my cat was diagnosed with early stage kidney failure. Slightly high creatinine, normal BUN. She was tested last Feb, Apr, and Nov with the same results. In Nov she stopped eating and I switched vets and food and gave her steroids (the saga is here: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/310152/gut-issues-deciding-whether-to-give-my-cat-steroids-prednisolone). All has been going well since January, and the vet said I could taper her off the prednisolone if she was doing well. The last dose of pred was 2/19, and I took her to the vet for a follow up blood test yesterday.
Can anyone tell me if this makes sense? She's not showing any out of the ordinary symptoms. Not eating as ravenously, but I just took her off steroids and she's still eating a sufficient amount (not losing weight). She meatloafs regularly, but has this whole time (tried antinausea drugs, omeprazole, i can't remember what else right now). Now she's off all medication, but I am giving her slippery elm bark when I give her food and she meatloafs instead of eating, usually she'll go eat after that (because it's helping or because she wants the taste out of her mouth I don't know....).
Does it make sense for her kidney issue to have disappeared??? Could the prednisolone/omeprazole have helped it? Could it have caused liver problems? I was also giving her B vitamins intermittently.
Should I be worried about these liver numbers?
Results:
kidney - creatinine 1.6 (normal < 1.9, I think her previous tests were around 2.1-2.2), BUN 32 (normal 16-38), SMDA (?! this is new...) 12 (norm 0-14), phos 1.1

And other abnormal results:

Eosinophile Granulozyten 7 0 - 6% (this is actually much better than it was before, it was over 10, maybe over 20 before)
