My cat ate some cotton from a cat toy

So my cat ate some cotton from a cat toy. I was sleeping and I heard him chewing on something, but before I could stop him he already swallowed it. After he was making some coughing sounds and I was worried. But now it seems like he stopped. Should I still be worried and should I take him to the vet?

I would contact the vet. That type of filler expands so while he got it down his throat ok, it needs to come out or it probably won't be passed and could cause an obstruction.

Ok thanks, I will take him to the wet today for them to check him out. Also my cat looks exactly like Boone .
