My heart is breaking for you and Scrappy. Both of you were handed impossible situations to deal with. What I see in you is a good heart that recognizes the importance of your pets life and needs. Even if you were unable as a minor to fulfill them. Keep your wonderful caring heart. I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry about Scrappy.  I know how much you loved her and that you did everything you could for her.  She knew she was loved, and that is important.  Some day, you'll be able to set the rules for how to care for your own cat.  For now, you did absolutely the best anyone could ask of you. It hurts, so much, to lose a kitty we love so much, so let yourself grieve for her all you want.  She was your very special girl.

RIP Dear Scrappy.

My heart goes out to you, I know how much it hurts to lose  a loving companion and family member. Only time will help to soften the hurt, allow yourself to grieve, your sweet Scrappy was a big part of your life. She will be with you always, in that special place you have in your loving heart, let your precious memories comfort you and know that she would never want you to be so sad when you remember her, she loved you so very much and only wants your happiness and love. The 'essence' that was her will surround you and never leave you, she will kiss you on the gentle summer breeze, and purr in the night to lull you to sleep, ask her to comfort you and she will send you that comfort on a sunbeam. Take care of yourself and surround yourself in this dark time with people who understand what you are going through, you don't have to be alone in your grief. RIP sweet Scrappy, you will never be forgotten and will forever be held in a loving heart!

How terrible! I can empathize. I lost a LOT of cats when I was a child due to them free roaming outdoors. It's so hard and horrible. The kitty knew that you loved her and wanted to do the best for her, even if you weren't able to, because of being a minor.

I'm so sorry for your loss. :hugs:

I see you are a young person who has lost their cat

I am so sorry for your loss..When I was a teen we lost 15 cats

to what must have been leukemia or upper resp illness...

It was heartbreaking..no one knew in those days and no one had the money

to take them to a vet..

we loved them and fed them all...

anyone that dumped kittens

in a ditch by our home, we kept them and fed them..

we did the best we could

and I am sure you did love and did the best for your own cat.

You have hugs from all of us...tonight..

You have a good heart...and a love for animals..

take care

Scrappy, requiescat in pace.

I've had all sorts of animals, since I was a baby.  In these fifty years, I have had cats, dogs, birds, guinea pigs, reptiles, horses, goats, hamsters and all manner of God's creatures.  There is even a picture of me in the family photo album, as a baby, fighting over my bottle with a baby leopard!

Unfortunately, the facts of life can't be changed:  Humans live longer than most animals.

It sounds sad, I know, but it's not ALL sad.

I guarantee that it won't be long before you'll find yourself telling tall tales about "Good, Ol' Scrappy!"

Maybe it will be around a campfire.  Maybe at the dining table, after dinner.  Sometimes, it will be over a drink or two.

Yeah!  I remember my old cat "K.C!"  He was one crazy cat!  (I probably should have named him, "Dammitt," instead!)

There was my dog, "Reggie."  There was the Shetland Pony, "Lighting."
Reggie was the Labrador Retriever who liked to chase fish in the creek.  Lightning?  I don't know why he was named "Lightning."  He was probably the SLOWEST horse I ever saw!  His name was a true irony!  LOL!  "Sweets," the billy goat?  Another name in irony!  GRIN!

Every animal I've ever had may have passed on by I still have DOZENS of tall tales to tell about each one of them.  There must be hundreds, or even THOUSANDS, of stories for me to tell.  Scrappy may be gone, physically, but I know that he lives on in spirit...  In the fond memories and in the stories you will tell about him.

Good pets never really die!

Why don't you tell us one of your favorite stories about Scrappy?  :)

Scrappy was such a beautiful girl!  All this time I have been imagining her as white and orange - it is nice to finally see what the real Scrappy looked like.   She looks very sweet.

I am so sorry for the loss of your girl Scrappy, so so sorry...When I was growing up on our family farm, stupid people used to dump their unwanted cats and dogs. I had to watch many of them be run over or killed by coyotes and it pains me to think about it to this day...Bless your heart for trying to help this kitty, I am sure she loved you for all that you did for her and when you are older, you can be in control of the circumstances.

Fly Free little one and land softly- you were so loved!

Casper hid under the bed when we first got him. He stayed there for two days. He only came out to eat and go to his litter box. After that, he hid behind the sofa.

It's a really wonderful thing that Scrappy came out her hiding place to snuggle with you. She must have loved you very much.

I know that it hurts to lose a friend that you loved so much but I also know that the sadness will fade. Soon, you will remember all the good stories about the times you shared with your friend, Scrappy.

Hang in there! :grphug:
