My 8 month old mama cat is having kittens now. She has had 4 sweet kittens. Her nipples are dry at this point so I am a bit concerned. This is my first cat litter ever.
So they are newborn and moma has no milk? Ay, you must be in hurry now.
Does moma otherwise care about them? Washing etc?
Have you any idea why moma hasnt no milk? Food not good enough? Stressed?
If there is any stress, try to reduce it...
You must also hurry and find some reserve milk for the kittens. You know perhaps some breeder or rescuer nearby who knows what to do and can instruct you? Perhaps lend some kitten milk?
kmr, with the bran KMR as the most well known.
Otherwise well equipped pet shops should have, vets, goat milk is also OK if you can get some.
If they dont have any milk at all, and it is perhaps middle of the night, you can buy some time with giving them some water with preferably dextrose sugar, or honey-water... Or in last hand, common sugar in the water...
A couple of drops in the corner of the mouth... A little tricky, but you must do something, time is running for them.
After it, rush to get kmr milk or goat milk or something...
If you can possible manage to do so, weigh them at about the same time each day. I used electronic kitchen scales that weigh to 1g, 1/10 oz is OK. If they are gaining 10g (1/2 oz approx) or more each day all is well however it looks when they scrabble at the milk bar. The first sign of a problem (with kitten or mother) is often that the kitten's weigh gain slows, stops and then reverses. Do make a chart of the weight by kitten, if you use Excel it can do the weight gain per day as well which is easier to look at.
