I've been noticing this for the last few months. It has NOT gotten worse btw. she is NOT sneezing anymore than normal, there is NO mucus anywhere around her nose. She does drink lots of water though. she had bloodwork done 6 months ago and was good then.

Hi, is the litter dusty? Has the house gotten dusty? Did you change any of your cleaning solutions? Have you gotten new carpet, or furniture?

The litter is super low dust, we change our merv 7 filter every 3 months. Nothing has changed.

Have you had a chance to talk to the veterinarian? Or maybe, a different vet or a specialist?

You can almost always use a Merv 13 filter without any problems. Ask your HVAC guy if you're unsure. You just have to change it more often (probably more than every 3 months if it's a 1" depth filter). They cost a little more, but filter out mold spores and other allergens. Merv 7 is not going to catch anything microscopic, which includes pretty much all allergens.

You can also run a standalone HEPA filter in whatever room your cat hangs out in the most. Those catch basically everything. I run a few of them, and my cats don't seem to mind the white noise.
