Since I stopped working 13 years ago I stopped listening to music. I'm so boring I really am.

I think the best concert I ever went to was Peter Gabriel.
I had seen him 3x one year. It was during the Security tour.  Was really interesting to see the show evolve each time.  First one was really a "dark" atmosphere and by the 3rd, the entire show had lightened up including his wardrobe.  Best part of it was when a parade of drummers came down the middle of the room (all were in smaller venues in the NYC area), with nothing else playing but them.

Oh I haven't been to any concerts  except for Bruce Hornsby and the Range sometime in 2006? 2007?.

I saw Madonna at both shows in Boston MA in 2000 or 2001? Her music titled album was the new one then.

I saw GodSmack at the Expo in Boston MA during New Years Eve party in 1997? 1998? They had 8 bands playing-one at each end..GodSmack was the last band that night-I learned I didn't really like rock concerts with all the punching and hitting..I was in the front by the gate that is up infront of the stage=I held on for all my might because the crowds were trying to get in front of me..I remember I had to pee so bad but I didn't dare move. Just wrapped my arm around the chain link fence and hung on while my girlfriend was getting her foot stomped on by some Butthead. Luckily no one hit me. IT was loud and awesome. We won free tickets from Rock 101FM.

That year I also saw-Creed, Boston and two other bands-at the Verizon Center=oh Cher! And I cant remember the 4th..but Cher was awesome!

Before that it was only to concerts in The Hampton beach casino ballroom in Hampton nh or The center in Worchester MA-those were all country=Blake Shelton was one of them.. clint Black. K.T, Oslin, I can't remember the rest..maybe Alabama..my dad loved concerts. So that's in a nutshell.

I found I didn't like Madonna live. She just didn't have clear sounding voice like Cher but she had stuff going on stage that kept things interesting.

Now adays I doubt I will do any concerts..I don't like rude people and cigarette smoking..so no thanks but I would go see AC/DC or Def Leppard if I had the chance.

Gosh, I used to go to shows every week, sometimes multiple times a week. Then last year happened and well, don't go nearly as often now.

I've got the iPod blaring full-tilt right now. Just finished listening to Heard It Through the Grapevine by CCR. Did anybody mention them? They were great!

And White Wedding just came on my iPod now....by Billy Idol. Anybody liked him? I loved his voice; there was just something about his voice. White Wedding, Rebel Yell, Fleshful Fantasy, To Be a Lover. I love those songs.

Billy Idol is another I need to get CDs of. I love his stuff. I wasn't a big fan of 70s other than Pink F and led Zep. I have been having fun listening to all these old songs that I haven't heard of in years..any rock or pop I love. Someone came over and had me play some Rap crap from some group that is popular now..someting called Little Ricky or no its Pretty Ricky..nope. I don't really like that stuff anymore..i loved R Kelly but sadly he's a criminal but I still love his songs...so groovy. Those are good songs for core workouts where you need to move slow and fluid...

My dad took me to the Beach Boys in Manchester nh when I was 5 or 6..we were way in the back but I remember him putting me on his shoulders..i don't remember the music but I do remember bits and pieces...

I apparently bought tix to see the Joy Formidable tonight that I'd completely forgotten about, so I'll be seeing them tonight.

LOL, you forgot you had a concert, LOL, you sound like me.  They're good, they remind me of Camera Obscura and The Crandberries.

They're here next week.  Enjoy the show.

From the Joy Formidable show:

Still not sure about the Pegboy show. Might see if I can give the ticket away. Not really feeling it today. And there are a few good bands tonight (Brokedowns, Dan Vapid & the Cheats, Pegboy). I think I need someone to kick me in the rear or something :lol3:

I think I must be the only person in the universe who does not care for Purple Rain. I do like When Doves Cry.

Little Red Corvette and 1999 are on my iPod and they are great songs for when I'm walking. It's rather difficult to dance when I'm on the treadmill, but when those songs are playing, I end up trying.

LOL, I love hearing the difference's in people's taste in music.  Purple Rain, I feel asleep to in the movie theater. LOL  That sound track was played out on the radio back in the day, but I like it.  When Doves Cry is my least favorite, but now that I haven't listened to it in ages I'll give it another go.

My favorite is I Wanna Be Your Lover and there's one obscure song from his early archives I can't think of right now, but heard it again yesterday on the radio.  And most all else.

The song I Will Die For You, still brings back great memories of when my friend was DJing in a small club on Long Island, NY and a very tanked young man, was singing this song to himself while dancing in the mirror. LOL  We still talk about it to this day.

As a musician at heart, I have great respect for him as a song writer, musician, and you could say composer.  I love how he gave the music industry a run for their money and didn't take any bull...

Very sad day for the music industry.

I just love this video. its a neat compilation of dance for the past 100 years. the song itself is one of my favorites. it makes me happy and moves me.
I don't know why-none of their other songs get me up and moving. but this song just has the right rhythm.

Capital Cities  Safe and Sound

As an artist and a dancer-this video makes me smile. very original! What do you guys think???

Since I am sure everyone heard the news about Prince passing away yesterday April 21 what were the songs you really liked by him?

Mine is Purple Rain and When Doves Cry
I had said earlier that I was not a fan of Purple Rain; I have since changed my mind. After listening to it a million times, which is what usually happens.

I have a Prince playlist on my iPod now for walking: When Doves Cry, Controversy, 1999, Let's Get Crazy, Little Red Corvette, Baby I'm a Star, Peach (gosh, I love Peach), a version of Peach that he did in concert that I really like, Head, along with a version of Head that he did in concert that's 11 minutes long, U Got the Look, Delirious, Cream, Computer Blue, etc. There are quite a few more. Songs that are great for walking. (I also have six whole CDs of his on my iPod that I listen to when I'm alone in the house and doing housework and such.)

MTVCL showed Purple Rain a couple weeks ago. I watched it. I've turned into quite the Prince fan. Am also a fan of Housequake on FB.

I always loved prince. I still can't believe he is gone. My heart is breaking from all the lives we have lost. Makes me feel old.

I have to watch the movie purple rain-I have seen it but I can't remember what it was about. I wish we had more artists who are original instead of the repeated rapcrap like we see now. It seems most songs repeat the same tempo and guitar picks/melody that I wonder if there is any original music left/

Last night I was listening to old country on youtube. And was   amazed at the talent of those who were big in the 80s and 90s. one of my favorite is the video Fancy by Reba. That just resounds with me. I think the video helps give me an insite to what the song is about. Anyone here like watching country music videos? I tend to like a big broad range of music. hard rock. pop. country. classic rock to name a few.

My all time favorite singers are the Beatles. I'm an old fart.

The current singer I like is Megan Trainor. I love her song "It's All About the Bass".
