how long about does the mother still breast feed the kittens? and when is it a good time to get the mother fixed to prevent more kittens?
Kittens will start weaning around 5/6 weeks of age...however they will most likely still "snack" on mom for a few weeks following weaning. My recommendation is to plan to have mom spayed when the kittens reach 10-12 weeks of age. Depending on whether they have continued to feed on mom or not...it may be an additionaly 2-3 weeks before her milk dries up and she can be spayed.Originally Posted by lilboardingurl6
