More aggressive behavior

My kitten is approximately 5 months old and just today, he went from my cuddle bug to posturing (arching of the back with his tail straight up - hopping sideways). Nothing has changed in the last month or so, and he seems to travel well as he has been camping with us in our trailer.

Any thoughts? Could he be becoming a obnoxious teenager? Could he be getting to that point where he needs to be neutered?

I would move the appointment up if possible.  Late October is almost two more months.
