Hi, I found this forum today after a huge scare with my baby Mordred, and I really appreciate all the advice I've read here. Mordred is 5 years old and I've bonded with him more than any other cat I've had in 45 years He had to have emergency surgery today and catheterization for a blocked urethra and bladder stones...I almost lost him last night, and he is still not in the clear (though he came through surgery fine and they say they have cleaned his bladder out), but unfortunately I have read some rather sad stories here today about people losing their baby after such a surgery...so I'm still scared.
I realize I need to make some changes for him and I'm glad to see the resources here to help me do that so he can be more healthy. He is my "special" kitty..see, I am diabetic and he never fails to wake me up in the middle of the night if my sugar has gone down in my sleep, no other cat that I've had has done that for me.
I look forward to being a part of the community!!
