My question this week; weddings! When was the last time you went to a wedding? Whose wedding was it? Do you enjoy them?
This weekend my DH and I attended the wedding of a girl I'd grown up with in my church's youth group. She and her husband met and live in another state; but they came back here for the wedding. There were only a handful of people from our church there; but our former youth pastor performed the ceremony. It was really sweet. (He also married my husband and I; and quite a few of my other friends from church.) I had never met her husband before; but they seem like one of those couples that really do fit each other. I wasn't so happy to have to dress up; in a dress, but I did it. I probably would have been ok in dress slacks or dress capri's; but oh well. My husband had to wear a tie; it was only fair I guess!
We were able to leave our kids with my parents and afterward we went to petsmart.
We are so romantic! We usually go to Lowes when we have a date night.
Aside from my dislike for dressing up; it was a great day! They ceremony was beautiful; the reception was a bit more intimate (I think there were maybe 75 guests tops; most weddings I've been to people go crazy!) and just lovely. They did gourmet cupcakes and 2 small cakes. The cupcakes were amazing. The food was simple but also amazing. The wedding party did a little dance after they were announced at the reception. That was cute! And the groom even did a special dance with his new mother in law; they danced to "Isn't She Lovely".
I think my friend found a great guy!
