There are countless common household plants that will actually hurt or poison your cats.

Nothing much you can do to stop this other than putting them up where they are unable to get to them, maybe a shelf on the wall, hanging plants, etc.

The list of plants that are harmful is endless, check it out.

Yes, you really need to keep them out of reach (remember, cats can jump). I love flowers, but I don't put them in my house, it's just not worth it. I make dried flower wreaths, but they are hung on walls with no way of accessing them (i.e., no tables under the wreath). Even then, I'm careful. I have dried flowers in vases, but mainly roses. I'm lucky in that--Ritz hasn't chewed anything.
There are some safe plants, like spider plants. You can also try growing cat grass (kits available in your local pet store), but your cats may not be able to differentiate between safe plants and unsafe/toxic plants.

I put grannick’s bitter apple on my plants, it won't hurt the plant and believe me, they will take one sniff, maybe a bite, and it will be one of the last times they do. At least in my experience. The look on my cats face the first time he bit into that was amusing for me. Not so much for him. None of my plants are toxic to cats, but as many said already, there are a lot plants toxic to cats. Be aware of the one that are not good for them, if you really want plants. Honestly though, if your cats are that determined, there may not be much you can do to stop them. Maybe relocation to areas they can't get to them or put double sided tape on the surface around them to discourage going there. Offer alternatives, there are many chew toys out there for cats that may be more appealing. Good luck to you!

You could grow them their own grass to eat, they sell kits at Walmart, etc., my cats like it a lot better then my plants and leave them alone. Worth a try anyway! And if that doesn't work, get the repellent sprays for your flowers. The main problem I had was them trying to go to the bathroom in my big plants, big rocks placed on the soil took care of that!
