Moisting food with water?

Since getting my kitten at age 7 weeks, I have fed him nothing but Science Diet Kitten dry food. He does not know anything else. He does not know that you could put water on it. Therefore he eats it just fine and eats nothing else. Simply put, since he has never had anything else, he is happy with what he is getting and I am very happy that he is very happy.

Aside from the risk of an "only" food becoming unavailable due to supply problems or recalls, feeding prescription diets, should they later become necessary, will be much more difficult if a cat is used to just one brand or type of food.
