Well tonight we were all doing our normal stuff and all of a sudden Missy started to just scream and yell at the top of her lungs. So we all came running to find Missy with her front claw stuck in a curtain and she had pulled back so her leg was at a funny angle, So I picked her up and moved her toward the wall to take the pressure off and she still was just screaming while I cut her unstuck, but she still was in allot of pain and her leg and shoulder was still goofy so I gently rotated her leg back around to its normal position. I didn't hear or feel anything pop or crack when I did it.
She is getting pretty old so maybe it just hurt to have her leg pulled in that position. I would think she is not as flexible as she once was. Anyway after I got her leg back in it normal position she stopped yelling and I just gave her a long hug and said she is OK now and waited till she settled down, when I put her down I watched close to make sure she could walk OK and not have any major problems with her leg, which she didn't.
The way she was just screaming and the angle of her front leg when I first picked her up I thought she had popped something out of place, I was so scared for her for a couple minutes at first. What she did is not that big of deal, I mean with a claw stuck but she normally gets herself unstuck with no problem but tonight she must have turned her leg or shoulder in such a away that it hurt really bad. Maybe she is getting arthritis in her shoulders? She don't show any stiff or sore joints other wise, and at her last good checkup the vet said she couldn't detect any joint problems from her age.
I have never heard Missy scream and yell like that before, just the sound she was making was scary enough before I figured out what was happening.
She is doing just fine now.
