How much liquid do you use on a cat on a daily basis. I don't know how much water to add
to the Miralax. Thank you
to the Miralax. Thank you
My cat also suffers from chronic constipation. I live in Canada, Miralax goes by Restoralax and is exactly the same. He gets 1/4 tsp. twice daily and I mix it in chicken with broth baby food, about 1tbsp for each dose. It must be dissolved in liquid of some kind not just sprinkled or mixed in their food. I found a diet of low residue wet food works for my boy. High fiber was plugging him up. Wellness is a good brand, grain free and no dry except for 2 treats per day !

See my post above for the correct way to give Miralax to a cat:
How are you giving them the miralax? just mixing it with her canned food, and a little water?
How much Miralax to use depends on the cat and the reason why it's needed. A typical dose is anywhere from 1/8 teaspoon to 1/4 teaspoon once or twice a day. You should ask the vet for the proper dosage for your cat.
Dissolve the Miralax into a tablespoon or so of water. Then add canned food to it and give it to your cat to eat. Some people like to add a little additional water to ensure that the cat is getting plenty of water.
I always mix a little water in with Cleopatra's wet (canned food)
try adding water to his wet food; that will get more fluids into him.. or you could try 1/8 tsp in the morning and 1/8 in the night feeding.
That sounds good, thank you.

Possibly. Miralax that isn't dissolved in water before ingestion will absorb a lot of water from inside the body which can make constipation even worse and cause dehdyration. Always dissolve Miralax in some water first and then mix it into food. Vets often don't know this.
The vet has me give her 1/8 tsp Miralax twice a day with canned food. I am not sure what to do next. I do wonder if I have not been getting the Miralax mixed up enough in her food, as I didn't know to mix it with water first. Could that be it? I will start doing that with tonight's feeding.
