We went to the shelter to see if it was nice and that the animals were taken care of so I could volunteer. We ended up looking at the cats and my dad just fell in love with one of the cats. So instead of jumping into adoption and having to give the cat back because he doesn't suit us we thought we might try and foster. Our cat Julian is around 2 years old, we have a dog which he gets along with really well, and a bird that he ignores. We're positively sure that our dog would be okay with a new cat, and the bird would be fine, we're mostly unsure about Julian and how he'll react. He's finally gotten over the stress of a new bird. We learned as much as we could about the cat we want to get and he's a very nice cat who's very easy going and playful, he's around 11 months and is good with other cats but slightly dominate. We know we can afford another pet we're just worried about upsetting the balance that we have. So any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
We have a few questions about having two cats.
• Do we need double everything?
•How do we introduce them?
•Will our present cat get stressed?
•Is there anything we should be concerned about?
•Any tips?
