Agree... and also lost both friends and family in WWII and Vietnam, I am dismayed that it has become just another excuse for a sale.
I've always said the same thing. I don't use the word "celebrate". That sounds like it should be a happy, fun-filled, party day. Now, as my veteran husband (USMC) once said, enjoy the freedoms that they fought for--but please spare a moment to remember their sacrifices.Personally speaking, I am glad that you didn't use the term 'celebrate' in connection with Memorial Day.
