I know TCS has a few members from this area so I thought I'd mention this for anyone who hasn't heard anything yet, though I'm sure tornado warnings are very common
. NOAA is predicting severe storms and a possible tornado outbreak through OK, KS, the mid-Missouri valley, and possibly surrounding states this weekend. Here is the NOAA Storm Prediction Page: http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day2otlk.html (scroll down)
It says a tornado outbreak is "likely" across the southern and central plains from Saturday afternoon and overnight until Sunday. They predict the greatest threat for significant tornadoes will run from Salina, KS to Oklahoma City and across southern Nebraska, southwestern Iowa, northwest Missouri, and eastern Kansas. They are also predicting large hail - greater than 2" - and strong wind.
I may have missed something so if you live in these states, please read the storm prediction page and keep an eye on the sky and on your local storm forecasts. Weather.gov has lots of great tools on the left sidebar: watches and warnings http://www.nws.noaa.gov/largemap.php (click to zoom in to your area, warnings are also on the main page), radar and satellite.
edit: NOAA is saying that the last time an outlook like this was issued, it was for the April 27, 2011 outbreak.
