Oh my goodness poor baby, no matter how much we cat proof our houses they always end up getting into mischief. Its the same with children, this was a tragic accident and I send lots of vibes for her recovery.xxxx
Will be praying for full recovery. The vet's news sounds promising. Hope your friend's family isn't being hard on themselves. Who would have thought such a thing could have happened....
Good news to report today! (sorry was out late last night and most of today)
I talked to my friend and she said the Vet expects the kitten to make a complete recovery! But it will take a few days and EVEN better...The hospital discharged her today so now she is home with her loving family and litter mate
so thank you all for the vibes!!! It was a happy ending!!
Oh, that's such good news - thanks for posting it! Boy, I bet those dining room chairs have been kitten proofed within an inch of their lives now! I never would have thought of those types of chairs of being a danger - a recliner, sure; a rocking chair, probably. But just a plain old chair.
I'm sooooo happy to hear this! Been wondering how the little one was doing. I hope someone slipped some pillow cases over those chair backs before she came home. for a quick and complete recovery.
Oh I'm so glad she's going to be OK!
What a nasty shock for everyone. I have to say, I wouldn't have looked at chairs and thought of the potential danger there.
Late to this thread, but I'm so relieved to hear that the kitten will be okay. Most of us probably wouldn't have thought such chairs could be dangerous.
yeah I didn't think twice about my dining room chairs either...but now that I am aware that they could really hurt a kitten I will make sure to cover them or look for a different style chair when it comes time to replace them (which will be sooner or later)
I got a message from my friend. She said that the kitten is home and is hobbling around her back legs don't work fully yet but she is hobbling around none the less. She also told me that the kitten will be on painkillers and steroids for at least 2 more weeks and while she is expected to recover fully there is still a chance that she will have some lingering effects but nothing serious.
