He's really more upset at the change in his routine than he is mad at you. If he's upset with you, it's because you provided the routine that changed. Really, give him a week and he'll be back to his old self.
I thought Buggy was a good name. Names ending with the eeee sound is good as they response those pitch.
Bugsy is ok? Though maybe mistaken for a rabbit as in Bugs Bunny :lol3:
i sure hope the little prince returns to stealing my seat again soon...day 4 still holed up. He has used the litterbox, though, amazingly clean in that regard, zero abhorrent behavior, misses or mistakes for any reason.
when he decides to "come out" and show his face, i'll commence with attempts to play, exercise and "get busy" (in an interaction sense)
Last week, before his trap, vet tests and treatments...he showed signs of becoming comfortable with me....laying in middle of the floor...on his side, eyes blinking relaxing, nodding off. And just beginning to play....I don't think anyone in his life taught him about fun and play.... I felt we made great progress at that time.
I'll be happy if he'll simply trust me enough to hang out mid-room again. That will signal a rehab of sorts.
My vision.....IF he's willing...by next year fully integrated into the family, cats, dog and humans...free run of the whole house.
Wet food (already cooked) can last a pretty good time when left out and considering it's winter on your side. Dry would not last that long but humidity is low should be able to last a little longer.
If wet turns dry, mix some warm water to it to make it damp again but don't do that to dry food. Just take note when he eTs and mayb lay it out for him 1/2 hr before. Unless he eats after midnight and you can't possibly stay up so leave it out earlier before you hit the sack.
Both wet and dry. Dry down daily...largely untouched. Wet down normal feed 7-8am....changed and fresh again 5-6pm. I'm keeping everything fresh...giving him no reason to decline eating.
He is eating odd hours after midnight, unpredictable timing. He's lost his schedule somewhere along the way.
His hours are now whacked out....overnight he ate his 6PM dinner and ate well! ......used the L-box and drank water (not necessarily in that order : ) . Of that I'm relieved.
This morning, via camera I spied him sitting out on the floor....of course when I go in he retreats to his safe spot.
i'm beginning to take this personal. So IS HE HOLDING A GRUDGE AGAINST ME?
