Sounds like strep to me. But I would go to the doctor to be sure.

That sounds really gross. I have somewhat large tonsils and sometimes when I yawn a lot these little white/yellow balls come out from behind them. I don't know if they stink or not but it's gross.

Did you try gargling with salt water?????
How is the humidity level of your house-our houses are more arid in the cold winter months.
Drinking enough fluids??? Talking more than normal???
When I start a sore throat I use the throat spray and drink more liquids.

Thanks! My ears still get plugged up occassionally, but I've been taking 2 aspirins every couple of hours.

Yes its dry here, but I think I picked it up when I was in MI. The first night we got together with some friends and one of the friends is a chain smoker...my throat didn't feel right after that so I just attributed that instance. However when I was at his sisters house, I could not stay warm for the life of me..despite her raising the heat to 70*.

I'm still on my tea/soup/cough drop/aspiring diet. In fact I even had coffee a little bit ago due to my lack-of-caffiene headache I've had all day.

That's not a spur of the moment decision one makes just for a sore throat. Getting your tonsils removed as an adult it very painful and takes longer to heal then in children. Most doctors won't agree to it unless a person is getting reoccurring tonsillitis or has a really bad problem with tonsil stones (also called tonsilliths).

I had my tonsils removed at the age of 45, I'd had tonsilitis for two years nonstop, having the tonsils removed was horrible, I have never been in so much pain in my life, I got an infection, i layed on the couch with two ice bags on my face, trying to get the swelling down, I would never recommend it to anyone. I was sick for three months.
My oldest daughter gets the red lumps sore throat, and sometimes ear aches, when she gets a cold, the specialist said it was post nasl drip, irritating her throat, he recommended, throat spray.

TWO every 2 hours?!!!

You'll kill yourself doing that!

Never ever exceed the recommended dosage on the bottle unless explicity instructed to by your doctor!

ASA is a blood thinner and you are doing your body great harm taking that amount of aspirin! Not only are you at a high risk of developing an ulcer, but you are at great risk for excessive bleeding if you cut yourself. Seriously, you could bleed to death.

You can also go deaf from ASA toxicity!

I should have said "few"
I've been taking it every 4 hours. This afternoon i really staggered off though...I've developed the post nasal drip, which actually is helping the sore throat that making it worse
