Hi!
I decided to join thecatsite because I currently have a cat with some urinary issues, and though I am currently trying to remedy the situation, it is kinda tough! So, I figured a little extra help is always useful.
Anyways, I am currently a student who has a bunch of animals who are my babies.
My soulmate is a Doberman Mix named Emmy. I also have a Guinea Pig named Asher, a Turtle (Greta) and a Bearded Dragon named Mista Lizad Man. Lastly, I have my two cats, which is primarily why I am here .
Rowan is a 4 yr. old Tabby cat, who was a young mama cat. She had her kittens when she was around 9 1/2 mos. old.
I got her from my old work at a vet's office. They have a relationship with the local animal shelter where they take in animals that need special care, surgery or for any other reason (i.e pregnant females, amputees, etc.) that takes up the shelter's extra resources and time, and when they are treated and healthy, they are adopted out through the vet clinic.
Rowan's family was military and moved overseas and she found herself pregnant and in the shelter. She came to us (the vet) and soon had her kittens. I was originally looking for a kitten prior to her coming in, but when she came in, for some reason I just wanted her. It was a great decision, she adores people, is always friendly and polite, never bites (except for her love bites) or scratches and likes dogs. In the clinic, she'd leave her kittens and ran up to random dogs and rubbed up against them . She even fostered two kittens along with her own, when they were found and brought in.
Here is Rowan:
Jacob is a black cat who is about 7 mos. younger than Rowan, so he is a little over 3 yrs. old. He came from my work's sister location in the next town over. That vet office also has the same program with the local shelter of that particular county, his mom was the pregnant cat and him and his sister were the last kittens left when they sent them to the location I worked at. They were 5-6 mos. old at that time, no one wanted them . One day his sister got adopted and he was all alone. I felt bad for him and decided to take him home often and bring him back the next day or after the weekend was over. On Halloween a few weeks after I started bringing him home, I was told I was allowed to keep him, as long as I didn't do another nice thing for an animal at the vet's again (by the BF ). So, that was how I got him.
Jacob is a complete mama's boy. He is a total cuddle bug. He is a rambunctious little boy, but he is a good boy.
