I have read those articles as well. I have never had a mammogram (still too young @ 26 according to the Dr.) but one of the things I have been wondering, especially if they are as bad as I hear, is why they can't use sonograms instead. The reason I ask this is because about 2 years ago I started having some medical issues and the doctors told me he suspected breast cancer, or a pituitary tumor. They wouldn't do a mammogram on me because they said I was too young and didn't want to expose me to the radiation. Instead they did a sonogram, which I was told would allow them to find any abnormalities. I have decided not to get them anymore since reading some medical articles that say mammograms are not as effective as we have been led to believe. There are other, less intrusive means of checking our breasts apparently, that are just as good. (Don't ask me what they are right now because I'm having a senior's moment and can't remember.)
