Male Cat Now Mad At Queen?!

Hello, I have a 2 year old male (neutered) and an almost 1 year old female... She was a stray that I had taken in. During one of her heat stages she snuck out side and i am sure you know what happened next. Well, my male and female have been good buddies.... playing, eating and cuddling one another. Untill 4 days ago when she had her kittens. She has been the best and sweetest little mommy.... she's a pretty relaxed cat. But now my male is hissing at her? He has nothing to do with her and will not go anywhere near her? What's the deal? He is fixed... they were friends right up untill she gave birth.... help me

Male cats can be unpredictable and aggressive to mom cats and their kittens, even when they are best friends or siblings. Please make sure that the mom and kittens are kept in a space secure from your male.
