I just discovered what feels like 2 oblong growths under my 16 1/2 year old neutered male Maine Coon / Tabby mix's jaw. To give a little background, a couple months ago, we started supplementing his diet with canned food. The dry food free ranges the other 7 cats, but Dante started getting thin and frail looking. We assumed he was having difficulty getting up on the table where the food is ( also have 2 dogs, keeping the cat food up high keeps the dogs out.) In the couple months he has been getting wet food, his appetite is great, and has put weight back on. However, the growths got my attention. He doesn't seem to be in any discomfort, no mood changes, and has a very healthy appetite. Should I be worried, or are growths just common in older cats?
