My boyfriend noticed our 3 year old, Sophie, has a lump under her skin. It's somewhere around her ribcage on her side. It moves around with her skin. It doesn't cause her any pain or discomfort, because when I found it (had to really feel around for it) I rolled it around in my fingers and she didn't even blink. I doubt it's cancer, as she's had her leukemia shot. Everyone is up to date on their vaccinations from their check up last month.
So, from what I've read- The only possibility is a fatty cyst.
My boyfriend doesn't want to put her through the stress of a vet appointment if they can't do anything and he also fears they will suggest surgery to remove it even if they don't have to.
So, my question is- Does a fatty cyst need to be removed? We intend to keep an eye on it and see if it gets bigger and if it does, we will take her to the vet. But we'd like to avoid the stress on Sophie if possible.
