I just scheduled Lucy's spay, and I had a few questions for you guys. I am not paying for this , as technically she is my roommates cat. He gave me 200 to get it done. At my vet, the spay itself is 125. They suggest (but it isn't mandatory) to get prebloodwork as well as an iv/catheter as "just in case" precautions. They also charge for more pain meds than most places give, so that you have some when they go home. (It was like 15 dollars for Quinn). The prebloodwork and iv/catheter are around 100 dollars, if I remember correctly.
When my dog was spayed, I paid for all of it- I wanted her safe and healthy through her surgery. Do you think I should request that the roommate gives me the difference, to give Lucy the same difference? Or should I respect his wishes as her owner? OR should I just pay the difference, and get her what she should have with out bothering him? What do you guys think?I just scheduled her for the 27th, so I have a bit before she has to go in.
