Well, at least for tonight. She's been doing quite well at the vets but still wasn't eating. We decided it would be worth trying her at home as she may be more willing to eat once she's back in her familiar surroundings.
As soon as I took her home and let her out of the cat basket on my bed, she sniffed around, jumped down off the bed (unfortunately she's still very weak and fell over), went into her litter box and did what she had to do, then came out, looked at where her food is usually kept and sat and looked at me. I knew that look only too well, so got her some food. She sniffed at it for ages, then ate a couple of chunks of meat, sniffed at it again, so I decided to leave her for a while to settle in. I went back up about half an hour later and she'd licked all the jelly off (which is what she usually does) so it is a start. I'm hoping she'll eat again later on. Only snag is she'll demand a fresh sachet of meat every time so the dog's going to have a feast. Our dog loves cat food. I'm hoping her appetite will return soon. The other good thing is she's started to groom herself again. She got an injection at the vets and as soon as the vet was done, she turned round and re-arranged her fur the way she likes it. Seemingly, she was giving her face a good wash today as well. Lucy's always been a fastidiously clean cat and doesn't like even one hair out of place.
I'm really hoping she's going to get well again but only time will tell. Whatever happens, I've given her the best chance I can. She has to go back to the vet tomorrow morning for more of her treatment but we're hoping now that she's on the mend.
