Hello everyone:
Lucas is on 2.5 mg of prednisolone already and doing great!! wooohooooooo ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh !! I have to scream! I'm just too happy!!!
he has been on 5mg a day of pred for more than two years and since he got sicker he has been on 10 mg a day for months. Whenever I tried lowering the pred he got sick, but thanks to his new treatments with includes Atopica and a herbal formula for the skin he has been getting better and better everyday.
Also his diet has helped a lot. He has food alltergies and he had been on hills z/d and Royal canin hypoallergenic for some time without getting better. But since we change his diet to canned food only he has been great! I'm currently giving him hills z/d canned. I had him on Blue Wilderness turkey, but I had to travel 3 hours to get it or order online and I think it was making him itch a little. I think he is allergic to turkey and chicken.
If he continues to improve he will be off prednisolone soon and he will be on a low dose of Atopica and that makes me so happy! Atopica doesn't have the same side effects of Prednisolone and it also helps treat autoimmune diseases such as discoid Lupus, which I think Lucas has. So, it is a win win situation, I couldn't be happier
