So yesterday our 5 yr old neutered male cat has been acting lethargic since this morning. He won't eat or drink and has been sleeping most of the day and won't move unless we touch him. The few times he got up and around he went pee and was walking slow and droopy. His third eyelids are also showing when he's awake and he is also sleeping with eyes half open. Another symptom he is having is his breathing is raspy but he is not coughing or sneezing. He tries to meow but he is so hoarse. We took him to the emergency vet and waited 5 hours to be seen. They did blood work but they didn't say much except that his BUN and K is very low but didn't explain what that meant since they were in a rush because it's new years eve. What does that mean and what can we do to help him? They gave him some medication to help him feel better but they didn't say what could be wrong or what we could do to prevent this from happening again.
this is the Blood work sheet and the meds they gave him.
Today he still cannot hoarse and trying to meow but can't. He feels a little better but still isn't as energetic.
Do you think he would need to be checked out further for any underlying issues?
