Loudmouth has been doing so well since she was spayed. She has become so much quieter and seems so much happier and loving. She's very gentle now and not as demanding as she had been before.
One of my main concerns was that since she was spayed, she would lose her mother instinct and would begin to be antisocial with the three kitties I have that are hers. I shouldn't have worried. She still grooms them, still plays with them; she just doesn't let them dry nurse from her anymore. (Even though her milk is dried up, her offspring continue to nurse, even the two that are 6-7 months old.)
In fact, her mother instinct may be even stronger now. The couple in the apartment above me just had a beautiful baby. When the newborn cries (which is often) Loudmouth goes crazy trying to find the baby. She walks around staring at the ceiling in the room where the baby is, and jumps up on whatever furniture is in the room, gets as high as she can, then stretches up on her back feet. She wants to investigate that crying baby!
