Since the second surgery it's been a little up and down. One weekend of heavy vomiting and we have discovered Kinko suffers from constipation. A change in diet (Miralax and pumpkin) has seemed to help him quite a bit. In addition to that I've begun Sub-Q fluids daily at home as he seems perpetually slightly dehydrated. It appears this is just a symptom of the Prednisolone. I will say that all of you who told me Sub-Qs were easy to give we're exactly right! I give them while he eats his morning breakfast and he doesn't mind at all.
But something unusual had happened since the two weekends ago when he had the vomiting fit. Kinko has lost his voice. Now he is a LOUD feline and very talkative but lately just a little oof of air comes out. Last night he made a coughing sound a couple of times with a wheezy purr for a few seconds after. I've gotten antibiotics for him but I want to know if any of you have experienced this issue?
Otherwise he is eating well and does not appear to be in any pain. I'll wait until I switch to the new specialist in a couple of weeks as my general vet isn't overly concerned yet.
