Hello, we are in trouble again, but with something different this time. Musiaka is on a very low dose prednisolone (1,75 mg daily) to control his ibd and chronic vomiting and it's been working really well. He was so extra playful ever since we started on pred, so I guess all those games have resulted in a lose fang...
Musiaka has always had a chipped upper canine, ever since I got him. But he was licking around his mouth extra much today and his appetite has been going up and down from eating loads to barely anything. Last night and in the morning his appetite was great, but after that mouth smacking session I noticed thay he comes to the bowl, tries to eat but also ends up making that smacking sound and not eating much.
I looked into his mouth and oh boy, his chipped canine is lose, the gum around it isn't very red, but it doesn't look nice. He still ran around playing afterwards, but not much eating today. Now I suspect it's because of the tooth.
So we are scheduled at the vet tomorrow, does anyone have any experiences with fang removal procedures? I'm so afraid that anesthesia is dangerous for Musiaka while he's on pred. But I assume that removal is the only way now, right?
