Hi,
Our cats used to be on Orijen dry, supplemented with MUSH BARF. We've read that it's better for them to be on scheduled wet feedings instead of free-fed dry and now due to urinary infection problems in one of our kittens (who is still in hospital) we are actually making the switch. The thing is, compared to something like Primal (which you can't seem to get in Sweden at least judging by a quick look at their website) MUSH has considerably fewer ingredients.
Example:
https://www.mushbarf.com/sv/var-hundmat/mush-barf-basic-cat-kyckling-kalkon-gris
Google Translate of ingredients:
Finnish chicken 47% (meat, heart, bones, liver, skin, gizzard), Finnish turkey 35% (meat, bones), Finnish pig 18% (meat, kidney, heart, liver, bone), of which: meat 54%, means 23% (of which heart 10%), cartilage, tendons and ligaments of 12%, 11% fresh bone.
This does not include any vegetables, added vitamins, etc. I've already been supplementing with a general multivitamin paste that comes with Taurine, but would like to take this seriously and find out exactly what this diet may be lacking so that I can add it in with the rest of the meal (ie taurine-specific supplement instead of just a general multivitamin, some kind of vegetables, anything else?)
We want to make sure our cats can get a proper, balanced diet and just wanted to see if any experienced raw-feeders here had any input on what we should add to this.
Thank you.
