Looking for affection after miscarriage

My cat recently had a miscarriage which was a shock to us as she is a queen. Her previous 2 litters have been hassle free and she has been an excellent mum. Obviously we took her to the vet who said she was otherwise fit and well so ok to come home and allow nature to take its course. Since she stopped bleeding she has been considerably more affectionate. A prime example I was just putting washing on my airer stood beside the chair and she was nosing my arm for fuss. I must point out that we owned her mum and witnessed her birth. Also her second litter we realised afterwards she wanted me to "hold her paw" during birth. Yesterday before the vets she kissed my nose something we been told is a sign of high effection. Is this normal? Does she feel a need for extra love due to the trauma or is she just showing her thanx for looking after her during problem?

I suppose it could be either or a bit of both!  Does she get more affectionate when she is coming into a heat cycle?

Not really normally. She is an affectionate cat but she been more affectionate since it happened
