Hi everyone, I am looking for advice with our cat, I apologise in advance if this is in the wrong section.
Our cat (Tilly) is a three year old black tabby and is a house cat, it has never showed any interest in going outside unless it is dark and only as far as the patio.
About two and a half years ago when till was still a kitten we noticed she became either very shy with people and run and hide or she would come and investigate on full attack mode,
We took her to the vet and they suggested we try different foods and move her toys, bed, scratch post and litter box around the house so she doesn't get too territorial about one area. We also tried feliway plug ins at the bottom and the top of the stairs, this made no difference
She is very selective about who she likes, she is crazy for my wife, she tolerates me, and she is ok with our parents (it's like she knows they are our parents) and she doesn't see them often, and she sees everybody else as a target.
About two years ago my wife's cousin came into our house with her baby briefly before we all went out, the baby started crying and the till went nuts and attacked my wife, we took her back to the vet and we were told she had aggression anxiety. This has not improved to present and we just shut her in our bedroom with all her toys and food etc when anyone comes round.
My wife is now pregnant with our first child and we are looking into what can be done about tilly.
We are looking into trying to re home her but my wife can't bring herself to call the cat rescue home nearby and neither can I as I have grown quite fond of her and her quirky ways (the only cat I have ever seek that enjoys sliding down the banister rail)
Do you think she is suitable to re home?
