Since he was injured for a while, before we got him, the bacteria got into the bone.Today they removed part of his right lower jaw bone, because it was dead. Now the surgeon noticed that the bone on the right upper jaw is dying. That part of the bone has something to do with the nose and mouth. If sherman eats the food and gets nasal discharge to the same time, than they are going to remove that bone. I can pick him up tomorrow and his next check up will be in 2 weeks. Unless he has nasal discharge, than i have to bring him in right away. He has to eat can food for the rest of his life. I'm so upset

Thank you so much for your support you guys keep me going.

I just came across this thread! Poor Sherman. I'm glad you and your vet are taking such good care of him. I'm hoping he pulls through! Keep us posted! And thankyou for the pictures- sometimes it is necessary to see things that aren't so plesant, so that we never forget why fostering and caring for abused animals is soo important! I applaud your efforts!

Poor Sherman

You can certainly see a difference after the surgery, hopefully the third will be the final and Sherman can get back to kitten life!

Sending many health and healing }}}VIBES{{{ to Sherman and
to you!

Hey everyone Sherman is a true miracle kitty. He had a total of 5 surgeries. We got him nudered and he got a really bad infections. He had to be in the hospital for 3 weeks. It turns out that he has imune disorder, where he will get an infection from the smallest injury. He can not be in a home with other animals. We posted his picture and his story on petfinder.com on the day he was nudered and we found the perfect home for sherman. That lady read his story and wanted to adopt him.We didn't even know if he was going to make it, half of his body was infected. But she visit sherman with me everyday even weekends in the hospital. Yesterday he was released from the hospital and put in the care of his new owner.

I'm so happy to hear that Sherman is still fighting. God Bless him, you and his new owner! Just out of curiosity, what is his immune disorder???

I just went through a broken jaw with my 1 year old in June. It's amzing how resiliant they can be. Maddie was hit by a car, and is going in for her 3rd and final surgery August 30th to remove the lower jaw wire and do the remaining root canals on her broken canines. She is no different, save her jaw had already reatached incorectly (a result of the first surgery being done localy without the necesarry experience and equiptment instead of by a specialist. We were told they could do it, than when in surgery, the vet realized it was worse than he had thought.) She was blinded in her right eye as well, but you wouldn't know she has a single handicap by the way she plays and acts. She even caught a mouse yesterday in our outside play time!

Sherman went through/is going through so much, and I really feel for him, but am encouraged by all the love and attention he gets. It makes all the difference in recovery. Sound like he has found a wonderful home with his new owner.

You are a true angel for saving Shermans life and sticking with him until he was ready for a new home
I personally would have been so attached to the little guy after all this........I would not be able to give him away.

I just want to add my 2 cents worth. I cant for the life of me even begin to understand how some people can be so cruel, I honestly get so sickened by people that I just want to cause serious bodily harm to them
.

You have done a great job with this miracle kitty, I just hope that he recovers completely without any further complications and can live out the rest of his kitty years being spoiled rotten.

Hats of to you and everyone that helped for giving him a second chance, the world needs more people like you!
