I have had a cat as a pet since I was 5 years old... which means I've been an owner (you never really own them, do you?
) for 23 or so years. I haven't been able to keep all of them from birth to death, but always found them a new home if need-be.
Proud to say all my cats have lived happy and long lives, all of them were adopted strays, and all of them spayed/neutered early in life (to keep our over population down).
I don't believe in vets much, I know the kittens need care/attaention and shots, but once into adulthood and living as a housecat, there's no longer a need.
I do believe in good diet (lots of dry and canned food as dietary supplement and "treat" only, and NO table scraps!), lots of love, and plenty of play.
I also don't try to be over-bearing, and allow the animal to act like and animal and climb all over the place if need be. You'd be surprised how well behaved they can be if not disciplined all the time
. Sometimes I feel people with the most problems with their pets are the ones that over discipline the most, possibly a result of the animal 'striking back' at their authority figure.
Enough about me
He's some pics!
